and first starting to play guitar, I played that thing night and day.. All I wanted was to be able to play parts nobody else could play.. Then I wanted to be able to perform better than everyone and that took a lot of practice, as well.. and we'd jam 'til all hours of the night every night of the week.. So much drive back then because there was still the dream of making it big..
Nowadays we play for fun.. but now there's so much work involved in the show that I feel the need to present, that its not fun anymore.. its fun onstage for two hours, but the 3 months leading up to the show are hell.. non-stop practicing, then video editing, light programming, flyers design, sets lists, facebook events,, dealing with everyone who wants VIP treatment etc.. its just on and on and on.. and we always play Saturday night, but I wake up Friday morning at 7am and don't stop running my ass off until 5am Sunday morning trying to get it all done.. then I need at least a week to recover..
I was doing it non-stop for years , but after we cancelled a few shows due to surgeries I had, it just felt nice to not have the stress and constant running my ass off for months while working full time and whatnot.. Its just nice to sit for a while.... and remodel the bathroom.. lol
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
