I hear ya, Jimmy..

I haven't picked a guitar up in 4 months, so zero callouses which means, major pain trying to play and major pain for quite a while until callouses are built back up..

That's funny about you rhythm player.. our original drummer (in our current band) was the same way.. His timing was for for absolute sh*t.. So, he'd skip a beat or add an extra beat, or whatever, and the bass player and I (mostly me cuz bass can cheat just like drums can cheat like you mentioned) would hafta change to compensate on the fly.. I got REALLY good at it after a while, which is a good AND a bad thing because I'd get to the point where'd I'd expect a timing change and then it didn't happen.. or happened differently.. Luckily our current drummer is a human metronome.. his timing is impeccable, which took a little getting used to after years of compensating..

I dunno, man.. I've kinda lost the drive to play right now.. I'm sure I'll pick it up again, but right now I could really care less.. I'm also remodeling the master bath and have the entire area down to the studs, so lotta work in the house right now..
