I recall going to Kezar in the mid 60s to see the Rams v Niners. I can't even recall the score but what I do recall is that the fans were older and far more tolerant of my rooting for the Rams. There was none of this in your face " our house" attitude that I understand was later in Candlestick and now in Santa Clara.

Even at the game Saturday night the public address announcer was screaming "WHOSE HOUSE" and the course the chores was "OUR HOUSE"-so right away you have this confrontational atmosphere being created by the public address system.

Maybe we learned to exist in a violent culture. Maybe today we value violence whereas in years past we found it repugnant. After all isn't the most violent sport in American the most popular?
