That guy was a dbag for doing that, it's really bad and I hope he gets assault charges levied.

There are a lot of converging drivers with this type of behavior and many posters have pointed out many of them. One that I haven't sen is the lack of consequences for this type of crap.

Personally I'm of the mind that to stop a bully all you have to do is punch him in the face. I say that because of my own life experiences.

Most of these fans could be easily handled by security and removed. After getting kicked out they will think twice about doing it again for sure.

Recently I was at a beachside restaurant with my girly girl and there were several other patrons there too. About 35-40 feet away there was a guy standing in the sand smoking a really smelly cigar. He wasn't in the restaurant, he was on the beach, and smoking on the beach is a no-no as in against the law on many beaches (and parks) in SWFL. Several of the diners were unhappy about it and obviously we were too because the breeze was pushing the smoke right into the dining area.

Horribly inconsiderate and he KNEW it.

Anyway I got up and essentially said "hey smoking on the beach is banned but I don't care. Would you mind moving over there (I pointed to an area away from the restaurant) so it isn't getting into the dining room. He gave me a look like "whatever dude" and I went back to the table.

And then he started puffing on that thing even more and making exaggerated motions with his head and mouth towards the dining room and giggling and grinning and waving the cigar around. It was so crappy of him. So after a couple of minutes of that I got back up and walked over to him and said in an aggressive tone "if you don't put that @*%#$+^ thing out right now I'm gonna slap the &%@# out of you". His jaw dropped, and he snuffed out the cigar in the sand and we both walked away.

LOL people were clapping. I wouldn't have hit him, and he probably knows that, but he went over the line and probably figured nobody would do anything and tough you know what if people didn't like having their dinner ruined.

People don't respect others, and waterfield is right it's VERY heavily skewed to 20 and 30 somethings. And IMO it's because they haven't ever had to deal with consequences/punishment/people "pushing back".

Back when I still lived in Cleveland a student hit a teacher in the face right in the classroom during an argument about a grade on a quiz. Not a test, not a semester or final grade......a quiz. Now when I was in school if someone had done that they would have been expelled permanently. He got suspended for two weeks and assigned to a different class for that subject. The worst way to handle it IMO.

This nation has raised a generation that is a steaming hot mess when it comes to dealing with their emotions and any adversity or challenge to their thoughts or feelings.
