I think it could be due to the general lack of manners these days. Manners are not taught at home or in the schools anymore. What's worse... they're no longer expected as a normal part of behavior. Respect was kind of built in to the manners we displayed. Years ago, kids addressed adults as "Mr, Mrs, Miss" and adults did the same. We responded to each other with "yes, sir... no ma'am... "yes, please" and "no, thank you". There was a formality back then that no longer exists today from the way we dress to the way we speak and act towards each other. We dress casually at games (remember when everybody in the stands used to wear suits, ties, and a hat? And women were in dresses and heels?"
and we act the same only now the casualness has a callous streak. Now, I'm not saying that we need to go back to that... however, I do believe some of the changes we see in how people treat each other today stems from a lack of good manners. I guess people feel they're no longer important. I'm not one of them.
