Yeah, I knew he was behind..

I wonder if HE knew he was behind and that caused him to go for broke.. I think they had current times posted somewhere along the run...? I agree- one of the greatest "go for it" moments ever in sports..

On the other hand, imo, the greatest "loser" moment in sports had to be Tonya Harding's skate for the gold after the "knee" incident with Nancy Kerrigan.. they weren't gonna let her compete, then they allowed her to compete.. the whole time leading up to the skating finals her manager and /or publicist talked non-stop about how she was the only skater to ever land a 3 spin jump - sorry, don't know what it's called - and how it would be the greatest "go for it" moment in sports history when she lands it to win the gold..

Of course, during warmups, she broke a shoe lace and was balling her eyes out, but they made an exception and allowed her to fix it, which was, from what I remember, unheard of at the time.. So, she starts her skate and the announcers know exactly where the Triple Lindy 3 spin jump is and they go batsh*t crazy building the suspense and drama.....

..and she weenies out and does like one spin, instead of three.. Hang your head in shame, again Tonya.. at least the embarrassment is over for a while and you can hide from public ridicule for a while.. well, at least until you try to star in a porno movie lol.. That flops (literally) lol
