I too have Plan G...I switched from Plan F (no deductible) because it was more cost effective even with the deductible (same coverage)
I chose Medicare at 65 and Plan F (now G) at the start
I have UnitedHealth Care through AARP

Cost is based on age, and rises over time, and rates are based on the state you live in
I live in Oregon, 72 y/o $175, Wife 68 $130 for comparison

If you do the math, just paying for costs Medicare doesn't cover, you would be better off paying out of pocket

But, and it's a big one.... you're insuring yourself for an extended Hospital stay beyond what Medicare pays for
