I think as far as talent it's very much still around... even better (technically). But their music is not organic.
I can't say what % this next is... but I suspect it's a LOT.... the powers that be, those in control of what gets aired, have a cookie cutter template of the sound they want and either the artist obeys or it doesn't get produced. - JamesJM
