Went outside at 1 PM. Got out the seat cushions, turned on the radio speakers, tuned it to the jazz station. Got out our books and we read until it started, waited till 2PM. Put on the glasses on a clear cloudless sky. The moon started it's trajectory on the lower right corner of the sun and made it's way across and up. Got about a 85% coverage. The glasses are the bomb. Really shows the contrast and everything else is pitch black.
Peaked at @3:15, and ended at 4:30. There was a distinct temp change at that 3:15 mark, noticeable cooling occurred. Kinda puts into a bit of perspective on this climate change/global warming thing IMO.....the sun is a major factor in temps and weather, not my 435 horse power truck......LOL......
Overall I am very glad to have experienced it, even if I have seen it before. Everyone of these eclipses offers a bit of a different experience. It's not IMO a "if you've seen one you've seen them all" type deal. It did cloud up slightly toward the last phases and I was able to get a few shots with my Nikon, but I don't know how to put them up here, they say they are to large, don't know how to shrink them.
Glad for those who enjoyed it like we did. It really is a marvel to see, also shows a bit of at times taking things for granted, a lot of stuff is special, even when it happens several times in your life.
