About 22 years ago, when I was on a Ladder Truck, I had a truss fall and land square on my toe. Had I not had steel toes, my toes and or foot would have been a mess. But regular work boots?? HELL NO! They made us wear them at NAS JAX Fire Dept. briefly. SEVERAL guys had issues with them. When our Asst Chief started having issues, that rule SUDDENLY went away.
