Seriously, what's wrong with me?

I've been searching for a pair of white 80's style men's boots for quite a while.. Most rock musicians back then wore them.. at the time they were technically women's boots, so you had to get the largest pair you could find and tough 'em out until they stretched a bit..
I used to have a pair that I LOVED, but they disintegrated in my closet over the years.. sad day when I threw them out.. So, I just found a similar pair and ordered them . I'm probably one of the few guys left that - I think, at least - can pull that look off in the 2020's.. But, honestly, why can't I let go of the 80's? I do get a lot of cool compliments when I go out, but I'd bet 90% of the people are laughing under their breath..
There is NO doubt that 80's style will come around again and everybody will say, "that dude is just following the trend" when I 100% never stopped doing the 80's thing..
