I remember the ball that VJ overran into the endzone that was intercepted by a d-back who high-pointed it. Important play in an important game - remember?

Post-game clip showed position coach telling player to stop and go up and get it.

IMO that was a perfectly thrown ball - not underthrown - that the receiver could have taken in stride IF that DB hadn't closed on the play. Stafford put the ball on the money - from there it's up to the receiver in a 1:1 with the DB trailing to go up and get the ball. If there's a collision, you're looking at DPI at worst, 6 if receiver hangs on.

I remember Stafford grabbing his helmet on both sides after the pick. Body language said "No, no, no!"

Skow might have at least batted the ball to the ground in an attempt to catch it. He's pretty good at that, even when he isn't covered. McCutcheon, when he's ready, most likely would come down with that ball. So would Coop, Robinson, or OBJ. I'd like to see those four as our primary wideouts by the end of the season - IF McCutcheon comes around as I hope he might.

VJ reminds me of early Lockett - good routes, good hands, not what you'd call real combative. His big upside coming in was his familiarity with the pro game via his dad's coaching, plus the aforementioned skillset of hands, route running, and good game speed. From what I've seen (and I only watch nationally televised Rams games that happen to make it to our local FOX and CBS stations, which are obligated to show either Seahawks or Broncos) Van's ceiling is very close to his floor - and he's nearly there.

OBJ is still young enough to have a couple of good years left IF his knee surgery with from Ram docs is successful. In that case who do you keep - Van or OBJ?

He wasn’t the same after the injury he sustained against the Texans.
