The "ranking" conversation about Stafford has been going on for some time around the NFL world given his superbowl win.
I'm not trying to play the contrarian here but I do give the guys who made the rankings some respect.
1) I think that the stink of Detroit is still on Stafford and it has tainted him, unfairly, in the eyes of many.
2) He didn't have a fantastic year stat-wise. He was probably in top 10, but he also had a lot of INTs and made some poor decisions when passing. I believe he still carries some of the "I got to do it all" mentality from Detroit which probably hurt him performance wise overall.
The best overlooked Stafford mini-stat, one that many experts have overlooked is how Stafford led comebacks in three straight games against top-rated teams to win the Ring. The more I think about it the more I realize how impressive that was. Three times in a row against top teams is no mean feat. Maybe only a killer can do that. Maybe he's got some of that Joe Montana comeback & kill ability in him. Montana, like Brady, was a QB to be feared. Maybe Stafford has that. If he does, I'd rank him at #1 QB over all the others on that list. We just have wait and see.
(To be honest, I can't take the stress of having to come back. I really don't enjoy re-watching those games even though I know how they end, to this day I still get stressed out watching them. Maybe that's kinda stupid, but that's how I am. I've re-watched the Ariz. playoff game the most!).
