So it's natural to look at things the way you do there. But these guys are used to winning their jobs. They're used to being expected to produce and to have a bottom line in competition with other top athletes. They know the drill. They know it's a business.
I doubt there is a negative from this in the minds of the players because the Rams win. The cost of winning is you perform or you're gone. Everyone knows this going in and the competitors who come to the Rams as well as the ones who get cast aside have their window where they get to enjoy the benefits. With players it's only a matter of time before you're a cut or cast aside no matter how good you are.
People had the same opinion btw, that the Rams locker room would be pining for Goff, after he was traded. But they got behind the major QB upgrade to a man and won a championship. That stuff IMO mostly resides in the minds of fans.
