I doubt there is a negative from this in the minds of the players because the Rams win. The cost of winning is you perform or you're gone. Everyone knows this going in and the competitors who come to the Rams as well as the ones who get cast aside have their window where they get to enjoy the benefits. With players it's only a matter of time before you're a cut or cast aside no matter how good you are.

People had the same opinion btw, that the Rams locker room would be pining for Goff, after he was traded. But they got behind the major QB upgrade to a man and won a championship. The great players know this front office is going to continue to load it around them. The cost is the loss of friends on the team the moment their play slips. The benefit however is knowing you're in the mix for rings. Legacy. Maybe even that Hall of Fame.

Slept on it, still hate it and trying to see it from the other sides point of view. However not a social media type but looked around for the obligatory "love you brother go get em over there" posts from the top Rams players, like I saw for Von and they are not there. Since I know (or think I know) Woods wasn't one of those "we tolerated because he is good but I am glad he is gone" types, the reaction tells me the players, the big money ones, aren't feeling this either, in a "it's just business" kind of way. Just trying to make sense of the Woods move and I remembered the targets issue earlier this year. I then thought was that it and then I looked for similar situations and viola. Gurley was shot and DJax had no sweat equity but Woods...he was different.

Look, it’s been said many times by pundits and posters alike.

AR is a better WR than Woods, especially for Stafford.

Trading Woods yields 7.1M cap dollars that can be used to secure a needed edge, CB, or ILB for our SB push.

It was a pure financial decision to better the overall team. Not the first and certainly won’t be the last.

I hate losing Woods. Miller, and Hekker. But I understand that all 3 are gone for 3 different reasons.

Rams handled Woods with class and allowed him to land with dignity on a competitive roster of his choosing. It’s not like they kicked him to the curb at midnight.

Team rosters are churned 25-35% every offseason and this one will be no different. We shouldn’t ‘adopt’ our favorite players because it will always one day end in heartbreak one way or another if we do.
