But it is a defense of him. You don't want him fired. Others do. You feel he doesn't deserve it but that's only your criteria. It's just a matter of perspective. You seem to be looking at the defense in a vacuum. While 15th ranked isn't horrific on it's own or in general, we're not talking about making a defense from scratch. We're talking about turning the #1 ranked defense into the 15th ranked defense. With most all else being equal.
That is doing a poor job and Morris is guilty of it. You may not think he has done a poor enough job to warrant firing but that doesn't mean it's the only perspective. It's possible he eventually figures it out but I don't care to wait. I can't imagine ANY coordinator brought in would do any worse. Morris brings NOTHING that can't be replaced.
If you truly think that this defense hasn't been problematic all year and are blaming it on the recent turnovers, I question if you really know defense as much as I thought? From day 1 this defense has failed to consistently...and more importantly, get the opposition off the field. By design!!! I don't know what you want to label it but the soft approach has been a disaster. Teams regularly drive it down our throat. Who cares if we're ranked 15th? Forget the statistics, do you think our defense can actually shut someone down? Especially when they need to?
