All I have done is show people that they are over-reaction when they call for firing
Well, that's not really the case. You have often tried to shift blame to the offense. In discussion about the shortcomings of the defense, you make it about the offense. Which makes it seem like you are defending the defense.
Morris and the defense don't pass the eyeball test. I don't care what the stats say. All I know is, this defense makes a bad habit of letting the other team have long, sustained, scoring drives far too often and probably more importantly, at inopportune times. The offense and ST's are not excluded from criticism but those are different conversations.
The stats are simply misleading. Cumulative numbers obviously aren't telling the whole story. I'm just an armchair QB but after 40 years, I can tell if a defense is performing at an acceptable level even if I can't explain every play call and concept being applied. Intuitively, I think most fans can tell that Morris is underperforming.
And, as has been pointed out, there is evidence of problems. When you have Reeder guarding Adams on 3rd and short, by design(?), that's on the coach and it's a problem. If that's "his" defense, then he needs to go.
