Thank you for getting past the simple its the same D lined up the same and run the same stuff. That's part of what matters but not the end of all the issues. When you give up long drives over and over and over again. Look at TOP and it's more than just a third-down percentage because often the Rams don't get to third down, and when they do the success rate is just okay. The pass rush has fallen off a cliff.
As I have said multiple times my issues aren't with the D he is running it's how he is running it and calling it and disguising it and the players he is using in certain places in certain situations. I don't understand why Long has fallen so far into this doghouse, he had a rough game but his coverage was tight...Rochelle has been awful, DD tried hard but is limited and Williams has been underperforming.
I don't like the personnel packages and I haven't figured out why the CBs line up so far off the ball no matter the down and distance, part of my issue with him is that there is no challenge to routes, there is no disruption of timing.
A couple of throws last Sunday were simply bad luck a few were so close to being batted at the line and then a couple where the LBs drop was just a step too shallow.
I would like to see Morris try some players in new roles, give some guys who have been benched a try. Easy to say here I guess because i dont see practice nor meetings or attitudes and things of that nature that lead to guys not playing but they simply need to try. Move Jones over Reeder, get Long back into the Slot and let D Will and Ramsey stay outside, move Jalen around for down and distance and whomever the other team shows tendency at for that situation. I find the Rams to come up short in situational football and just in a planning standpoint, they look the same every week no matter who they are playing and thats troubling to me. If nothing else give some different pre snap looks. Move up and back, get up in tight coverage and drop out, play some man more often..bring pressure if possible.
I am not privy to the meetings or what the team and coaches are seeing in pracitce only what I watch on film.
