Agree 100%. And I also I figured the 49ers would be prime destination. But none of the so-called experts agree.
The Athletic says Denver, Pittsburgh, Vegas, Philly, or Washington (plus one more team. And since I don't have a subscription I can't see who it is.
)
CBS used a shotgun approach, naming 11 teams as potential landing spots ... and none of them are the 49ers! Tampa Bay, Broncos, Dolphins, Saints, Steelers, Seahawks, Raiders, Panthers, Eagles, Giants and the Washington Football Team [

Sports Illustrated tabs Broncos, Raiders, Dolphins, Giants, Eagles, and Dolphins. [

They have a lot more sources than I do but my impression of Rodgers doesn't suggest that most of those teams would be a destination he would agree to. Which, I don't even know if he's got a no-trade clause he can fall back on. From Rodgers perspective, the 49ers seem like the most reasonable choice. From the Packers perspective, I cold see how they wouldn't want to do that. Trading to an NFC rival seems unwise. But, pissing off Rodgers wasn't so smart so I'm not sure how much benefit of doubt they should get.
I've heard the Raiders rumors as well but with so much in flux for them, that can go either way. Maybe they hire a new coach and bring in Rodgers and trade Carr all at the same time and it works out. But Carr isn't chopped liver and I'm not sure why there is so often a rumor that he is on the way out?
Dolphins are is desperation mode and willing to deal picks and, like the Raiders, are in the AFC so I could imagine that if they can't get Watson. I'm only assuming that Rodgers would like it there though, I don't really know.
Carolina and Seattle seem like the same problem as the 49ers if the Packers don't want to trade within the NFC.
I guess Rodgers doesn't care about the cold but my instinct is that he would prefer not to deal with Philly, NYG, Denver weather. To me, for Rodgers to move on from GB it would have to be a choice situation and SF checks the most boxes to me. Whether player or picks, I think they could put together a package to entice the Packers and Rodgers would be happy to go there.
