Not a great throw on 4th and 1, Lions turn ball over. Fumbles snap - turnover. Strip sack - turnover. When he had all day to throw in first half he looked good. Packers D and secondary are terrible so take it with a grain of salt. 2ND half - needs to step up and give his team a chance and he folds. Can't handle pressure, can't keep his hands on the ball. I think McVay got about the best out of him as he'll ever be.
Maybe he should think about wearing gloves - helped Kurt out immeasurably when it was clear he had weakness or arthritis in the thumb of his throwing hand. Resurrected his career, it seems
Gloves might help. At least with the fumbling and I'm pretty sure he has actually worn them at times already. But, as you mention, the gloves won't help with the struggling under pressure. When it mattered most yesterday, the chinks in the armor became evident. The 4th and 1 poor pass reminded me of the previous week against the 49ers. When Goff was playing from behind and there was little chance of the Lions winning, he was flinging it around and making things happen. Once it got to within one score, Goff turned back into a pumpkin and the Lions couldn't advance the ball on their last drive. Those pressure throws, when the absolutely had to be made, suddenly were off target.
