Goff is a good qb. Not is the same class as Brady, Rogers, Brees, and Stafford. But he's also better than the majority of other qbs in the league. Hence the Lions interest in him. Compared to the above 4 he's really young and with time and better protection he will improve even more. Maybe in time he will be elite. Maybe the Lions don't care if he gets there as long as he stays ahead of the rest of the pack.
And yes I know=Brees is no longer playing.
