I was actually talking about the Browns vs. Hoecht. The topic was: would the Rams cut both Browns to keep Hoecht, and the stake in the ground was yes, because Hoecht outplayed the Browns in preseason games.
With Perkins & Wolf I just think the Rams will keep both. But if they had to keep one it would be Wolf.
Here's why.
If Stafford misses time then #2 has to play. And putting Perkins in, say week 3 against the Bucs, would be a disaster where Wolf might not be all-world but would give the Rams a better shot.
Brown (pick one), OTOH, would be 6th on the depth chart, not 2nd. If one of the DL starters got hurt it would be Gaines or Williams who moved into the starting lineup, not Brown.
As I see it your #2 QB has to be ready to play at a moments notice, not so much for your #6 DL.
