I've asked a lot of long time lions fans because I too want to know.

From the responses I've received, Stafford will disappear a lot for quarters at a time. The offense will do nothing. He seems to lose focus at times but gets it back in the 4th quarter. Getting him in rhythm is key.

That meant that Stafford had to do a lot of 4Q heroics, which sometimes worked (usually against teams with losing records) and sometimes didn't (usually against winning records).
