Bad Games by Stafford Specifically

August 02, 2021 03:10PM
Here is from a Lions fan "off the top of his head" games where Stafford either contributed very little or actually lost the game for the lions:

If you narrow it down to just the games where he played like @#$%& and was the cause or a major factor in the loss I can break it down by year going backwards (since you said you prefer more recent years, and I agree with that because he has improved every year since 2014).

2020 - None if you want him to cost us the game, the @Panthers game if you want to see him do absolutely frickin nothing all game long

2019 - None (only 8 games)

2018 - vs Jets for a turnover fest, @ Vikings if you want to see him fold under a pass rush and vs Vikings is another “do nothing” game, vs Rams to watch how he manages to literally “fumble” games away in clutch moments against good teams

2017 - @ Cincy if you want to see him disappear against a bad team when we had a playoff spot on the line

2016 - @ Bears for some turnovers and general disappearing act, @ Giants to watch him “do nothing” once again when there was a playoff seed on the line

2015 - vs Cardinals he got benched for bad play, vs Chiefs he wasn’t very good and turned the ball over, vs Broncos was a typical disappearing act against a good team, vs Packers to watch how he can have a good game against a good team and STILL manage to fuk it all up with a craptacular fumble at the exact wrong moment

2014 - vs Bills and @ Cardinals are disappearing acts against good teams, @ Patriots is a complete meltdown against a good team

If you have been picking up the context of conversations the 2013 season is considered by some here as Staffords worst year. The following year (2014) is when Caldwell came in and “fixed him.” Timeline wise 2014 is a mile marker for Matt and his 6th season in the league, and he’s never been the same QB since.

2013 - @ Packers to see him wilt against a decent team, vs Tampa Bay enjoys its own special place in the hearts of Lions fans and is a must watch, vs Ravens to see him come up small in a big moment against a good team again, @ Vikings to see him disappear, vs Giants to see how he could completely crap away a win that was crucial to us making the playoffs
