What I like about the approach

As of right now they are spending their cap dollars on the most valuable positions. In the NFL on defense there is nothing more valuable than an elite pass rusher and after that an elite corner. The top of the Rams cap on defense are allotted to the top CB in the league and the top player period. On offense your QB should be elite and therefore cost top dollar and after that your left tackle. As much as I loved prime TG3 you don't want a running back at the top of your cap space on offense. The Rams are "all in" as it were because they recognize they have an all time great on their roster at a prime position so they want to maximize their time together. If there were no Donald, they still might trade for Ramsey but I am not sure about the all in approach. Goff being what he was I was curious if the Rams might have gone the keep the cheap QB approach and constantly bring in a high draft pick qb on the third year of your rookie qb's deal and then move on, while keeping the rest of the roster in tact approach. However I much prefer having a top tier qb like we have now to that approach even if it costed us players like JJ3 , Brockers and Cory Littleton.
