That last off season we were coming off of missing the playoffs in a very frustrating year while this offseason we were a 10-6 that won a divisional round game and has a lot of hopes for the future? McVay seemed a little frustrated with how the 2019 season turned out. He's been so careful with his words in the past that it would seem like a silly mistake to make. Although everyone is capable of making such mistakes.
McVay is very often not that careful with his words. I think he intends to be but then he has some emotions that get the best of him sometimes. Like getting shirtless in the hot tub with the camera rolling, when actually that was a dumb thing to do.
I think McVay's frustration at the 2019 season is a bit misplaced. They had OL wreckage. Very few (if any) teams do well under those conditions. Instead he came up with the myth that his qb needed everything around him to be strong, which he construed as a flaw. Meanwhile Stafford, for all his gifts, never elevated the Lions into a winning team when they had OL issues together with running game issues.
