First, I'll say that I think Meinerz makes sense. A ton of sense. I do think they could have a solution in house but on the other hand they did offer Blythe some money. So who knows...If they draft Meinerz do you think they do so with a plan for him to start?
On OT, you ask are the Rams done with Noteboom as Whit's future replacement. They may have no choice. Noteboom is a free agent after this year. They tend to prepare for potential losses by drafting replacements the prior year. They can't control him coming back and they probably will have a price on what he's worth as they did for Blythe. NB's impending free agency and Whit's age makes LT a high need.
As for where the new draftee would play? If they happen to think NB is the future and they happen to retain him, whoever they draft could be the RT. They shopped Hav this offseason already so his days with the Rams can't be that long.
On DB, what makes you say that they won't be there? Which ones in particular did you have in mind as fits that you think will be gone? And if you don't think DB will happen early, why are half the prospects they're meeting with DBs? That's very telling to me...just as telling as the two meetings with Meinerz IMO.
