And for the record, the 49ers slanted podcast that I was referencing earlier on this post, all agreed that the Rams trading for Matthew Stafford probably put a lot of pressure on the 49ers to in fact need to make a move.
I don't know what a neutral would say. I'm a Rams fan, my take on this will always be emotionally slanted.
One podcast doesn't tell me anything. Is that a general opinion among the majority of commentators? I doubt it.
But I think non-Rams fans would be inclined NOT to just make it all about the Rams.
They looked at Stafford, they looked at Watson, and they have been pursuing this trade for a while. It's clear they were going to do something at qb. They would be stupid not to--Garagepolo has played less than half the regular season games there.
