They are upgrading but in a different way IMO. It's a bet they are making, on that the QB they choose is the 1 for them. At the same time they have given themselves some money to play with since the QB will be on his rookie contract they can put money into other areas.
Yes they have traded away their 1st's for a few years like we have, but our QB is in his ending of a career (really don't think he's going to pull a TB and play into he mid 40's), the 1 they choose will be beginning his career. Behind our guy we have Wolford....that's it.
For the long haul they are IMO going to be ahead of us, and for the present they still have some guys to give plenty of trouble. Add to that when they get rid of Jimmy G they will get a decent pick in return.
This looks like there are some really good QB's to be taken and they made a move at the right time. When we'll need one , well right now that's not even a radar blip.
