Despite replies, you did quote that Niner fan who sees the reaction, not the setting of the table.
McSnead set the table. The Rams are in win now mode. The Rams shouted that from the mountain. The Seahawks didn’t. The Cardinals didn’t. The Niners didn’t.
You have players, like Deebo Samuels, who think psyching the Rams out is more effective than matching move for move.
If any team is matching the Rams, it’s Cardinals. The Seahawks are white knuckling it through the Wilson drama.
It’s the fear of falling behind the Rams and the Cardinals that’s forcing this Niner “win now” move. The Niners were in a great positiion at 12 to get an impact, plug and play, player now.
So, unless they select a non-QB now at #3, then the’ve not only slowed the “win now” process down (unless Zach Wilson, or Fields do what Mahomes did in his 2nd season), but they also have no #1s the next two years.
It’s a risky move and doesn’t appear to be produced from a blue print, especially with the losses on the defensive side of the ball.
People can reply that the Rams dont have #1s for the next three years. But the Rams have a top veteran QB.
The Niners can’t get that at #3. And what appears is they’re trying to do just that.
