I looked at the individual plays that the Rams ran on in the 3rd and 8 or more situation. Of the 12 runs--9 were in one score games, 3 in two score games(Rams up 10, 10, 11). On 9 of the runs we were in the lead. Game situation might be the key here. If McVay has trust issues in Goff, they come in these tight game situations.
The most appalling runs are the ones when we are in field goal range. There were four of these--ARZ 31, SEA 23(down 7 with 13 to go in the 4th), ARZ 25, ARZ 22. The Seattle one basically tells me McVay had zero confidence in the passing game--was this before or after Goff broke his thumb?
