Of course they do not. When your own coach and gm purposely tank a QB to the media that tends to happen.
Are you trying to say that Wentz, who ended as a 3rd stringer and despised by his own teammates is worth a first rounder and a third rounder while the VERY comparable Goff has to give up a first rounder to dump?
It's a narrative created by a childish coach that tanked anything. McVay had rocks for Stafford and didn't care about anything else. Dangerous man at the wheel.
You must think league insiders are idiots that can't evaluate QBs. IMO, it's silly to suppose that Goff's value is primarily based on recent events. You're saying the two are very comparable. But reports over the years have not been saying that the league decision makers see them as equals.
We've been resistant to this viewpoint as Rams fans but fans are typically blind when it comes to their players.
And right or not, Goff is seen as being created by McVay. Reports are his value was also lessoned when a coach with an excellent reputation and widely thought to be brilliant gives up on the QB.
We also don't know that it took a 1st to dump Goff. It's impossible to separate our trade package on what was exchanged for Goff and what was for Stafford.
