I would have to engage in wild speculation to answer that. And I am more than happy to do so.

The Rams would have to change their coaching structure from one where they have separate coaches for CBs (Pleasant) and Safeties (Evero). If they had done that the Rams would have had to take the Safeties Coach title from Evero, perhaps making Pleasant the DB coach and making Evero the Assistant DB coach. In essence, demoting Evero in order to give Pleasant a promotion.

And the Rams might have actually done that if they thought Pleasant was worth keeping. Clearly they do not.

I hope Pleasant does well in Detroit and I hope whoever the Rams hire as the next CB coach is even better than Pleasant was.
