If the Rams switched their structure and made Pleasant the DB coach in order to keep him from taking that role with the Lions then they would have to take the Safeties Coach title from Evero. And I guess they could have done that, but I understand why they didn't.

But why can't you have a safeties coach under a secondary coach? In effect, the same as an assistant OL coach.

Or use the defensive passing game coordinator trick to promote Pleasant.
