If Stafford comes in and the Rams are a mediocre offense, barely on the fringe of playoff team, etc., yeah, that's a problem... But I just always have a hard time saying Super Bowl or bust. The NFL is such a crap shoot once teams get into the divisional round. And even more so now that there is only one team with a bye in each conference.
I have heard that "all or nothing" stuff from other fan bases. For example, in New England they got so spoiled people would say "11-5 and 5-11 are the same thing..." Uh, no, it's not.
Maybe as a 43-season Rams fan through a lot of highs and lows I just view it differently now. I want them to be consistently good and in the playoff/division title mix. And then if the stars can align once in a while, great. But I'm not going to view every non-Super Bowl winning season as a failure. It's no fun to me....
But if the Rams can get back up into the top 10 offensively, stay in the top 10 defensively (not easy) and be a top 15 special teams unit? Well, yeah, you'd expect them to be in really good position come January.
