Albany, I was hoping to support your argument, sorry if it seemed otherwise.
In answer to your questions:
No I don't think they would have made those moves if Fisher were still coaching. Partly because Snead didn't like Fisher and partly because Fisher lacked vison, especially for the offense. Even if they had, Fisher wouldn't have known how to use those pieces. Likely would have produced another another few years of .500 ball if given the same roster. McVay's impact cannot be overstated.
Revisiting the OP, the moves made in 2017 produced short, and long term results. With our current cap situation, and reduced draft equity, are we relegated to having to make bold moves like the Stafford trade, to remain relevant?
