It seems to me that if the Rams are leaning toward Wolford then they might like what Watson brings to the table. The Rams have shown the willingness to pay (financially and draft capital) for players with potential (Tavon) and to pay for stars (Ramsey). From what I have read, Watson's deal is a bit less than Goff's. If the Rams can minimize the cap hit after June 1st then it might not be as painful. Window on the defense still open but perhaps starting to close and generally good skill players on offense... And a stadium that will be hopefully be open to the public in September.
I can see the Rams really liking Watson.... for better or worse. And then you have Wolf as a backup.
