He's a pretty good QB. Seems to be a good leader. Can run and move around the pocket. He's not a great passer like a Rogers, nor a great runner like a Lamar Jackson. Just good at both.
But is he really that much of an upgrade over Goff? It's not like he's won anything. I think he's got good substance but has been hyped by the media beyond what he's worthy.
I'm not necessarily against obtaining Watson; but what smoke signals are coming from the Rams or any local media that is reasonably trustworthy (like Jourdan) that would even say he's on their radar?
I think some posters, here, and the national media are trying to elevate Watson's stock like the recent GameStop frenzy. Much too high of a value being placed on a just OK entity, mostly due to anger.
Really, if the Rams were serious about Watson, I'm not so sure that a Goff plus perhaps D. Williams is any more than the Rams should (or would) contemplate paying to get the guy.... assuming he's even a target.
I think the likelihood is that the upgrade to Watson wouldn't be as great as some think, so the Rams shouldn't go overboard. If some other team wants to go nutz to get him, so be it.
