It would be nice. No doubt. But I think McVay can win with a lesser QB if the compete level is ultra high and he at least moves well. This is what I think he liked about Wolford in fact.
Minshew is kind of in that mold where I think he gets thrown into a competition and maybe he can improve that top two. Maybe not. But he's affordable too which helps.
It is a bit ironic with all the handwringing about our QB when at the end of the day it was our defense that let us down when it counted the most.....
I watched the game twice and the All 22 and Goff played well, good enough to win with, unfortunately our defense got ran off the field that day
I get it, people will say well we could have maybe had a higher seed or what not, but we still somehow made it to the divisional round and at that most critical moment, the QB wasn't the issue......McVay is smart enough to recognize that.
Don't get me wrong, Im all for doing what ever it takes to be better and win it all and if somehow the fairytale trade for Watson was a real thing I'd be all over it, but let's face it, it ain't happening
I think we already have the QB on our roster who could be able to push Goff for some compitition...we are already near the cap, so I don't see them spending money on a vet QB, but maybe draft one if the right one falls to the right spot
but for now, Our best option is working at getting better with what we have right now....I really think Cam is going to be a big help next year and getting back some consistency in the backfield like we had with Gurley and hopefully get us a guy who can threaten the safeties like he had with Cooks,,,who knows? maybe go get Allen Robinson...Goff can restructure to help make that happen if need be.
