Many are suggesting that we need WR, C, G, LT, LB, etc. to advance in the playoffs next year and I agree that those positions will need replacing or can be improved. But, if all else remained equal, this year's team could have easily been a 12 win team with more production/fewer turnovers at the QB position. And that wouldn't have meant an elite replacement like Watson or what have you. Probably better than Wolford but IMO, a reasonably priced FA vet would have at least replicated what Goff did.
IMO, this team will get better by just replacing the QB a lot easier than the 5+ other positions.
I’m now inclined to believe that a 2nd tier QB might be a sufficient upgrade to execute McVay’s O, mokler.
I also feel that the stud C might be enough for the OL. I’m a little iffy on Hav, though. Great run blocker but is too often a liability in pass pro. Would be nice to free up our TE’s and even WR’s for receiving duties rather than requiring them to assist in pass pro. Would be a twofer, huh?
Hmmmmm...
