I disagree with all that because IMO you're being far too categorical.
First, yes the thumb had an effect in that game--how could it not. If you had your choice this weekend and the Rams could play either a healthy Rodgers or a Rodgers less than 2 weeks removed from surgery on a dislocated and broken thumb on his throwing hand, which would you choose?
So rather than critique Goff for a poor performance I praise him for hanging in there and playing tough and playing within his injured self, without benefit of practice reps and within a gameplan not made for him. Did he not take some downfield open shots? Probably--and most likely it would be precisely because he could not trust his hand to make the throw right.
In terms of the qbs being a mess--well we don't really know about Wolford so I will leave him out. Someone can start slow and then warm up. In terms of Goff, I personally believe people are allowing 4 bad games to dominate their perceptions, as if that's all he ever showed this year. I don't approach it that way. I think the bad games were bad games and not one of them was bad simply and solely because of him--he was part of a bigger mess each time in all 4 bad games.
And everyone calls their own personal interpretation "keeping it real." That's just a euphemistic way of saying that what we have here is a clash of opinions--yours (though not just you) and mine (though not just mine). The entire time the debate goes on there will always be someone who declares they speak for the truth and others don't. Shrug. It's just the nature of the beast.
