I agree with Rambro. Wolford seemed better at progression and acted more decisively. I don't want Goff to tuck and run like he did but I think Goff could improve his progression reads. I would like to see Goff chuck it deep more often.
Did Wolford really go through his progressions better? Watching Axl's posted video, it appears he either throws to his first read or tucks and runs.
A couple times you can see him look to a second receiver, but for the most part I think McVay gave him only one read. It's easy to be decisive when your choice is between passing to one guy or running. In Wolford's defense, he does do a very good job of not staring down his target.
Agreed that Goff needs to both throw deep more often and progress faster. I wonder if McVay has overwhelmed him.
In terms of being slow...Goff has never gotten plays off faster in his career, according to the stats. His "time to throw" is 2.76, which is a fraction more than Rodgers at 2.72 and a lot quicker than Mahomes and Wilson. So I wonder about that.
