I agree with Rambro. Wolford seemed better at progression and acted more decisively. I don't want Goff to tuck and run like he did but I think Goff could improve his progression reads. I would like to see Goff chuck it deep more often.
I don't agree. I think that people are seeing a certain kind of defense stymie the Rams offense and they read it as being the qb when that's simply far from being the story. Yeah I know people pay lip service to it being other things (in fact it would be very hard to simply deny the other things) BUT as often as not, that stuff is not really factored in or accounted for in realistic ways. So we get blah blah McVay, blah blah the OL, and then...THE QB IS THE BIG PROBLEM. So I don;t buy the idea that some people are realistically account for the context.
Goff's progression reads were just fine when he threw against Arizona and Tampa for a combine 98 times, with 78% completions, and the team was getting 57% on 3rd down conversions. Shrug. So we even have the myth that the qb doesn't go through progressions when if you watch him you ought to know damm well that he does.
