It's sad that the Rams have a SB caliber defense yet their head coach and broken thumb quarterback will be what this years team will be remembered by.
Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota are now nothing more than backup NFL quarterbacks.
I'm now eating crow for my projections of Goff being future hall of famer. I will no longer play armchair GM. Goff took that title from me and I'll leave it up to the more qualified prognosticators going forward,
The Rams will likely lose to the Cardinals on Sunday and probably back their way into the playoffs thanks to the Packers.
At least I seen it coming with all my Jared Goff is on the hot seat posts. I tell it like I see it and there is no sugar coating in my posts.
John Wolford and the Rams are going to lose Sunday imo and even if they pull out a win, the team will be an early exit in the playoffs.
Oh well... Life is still good and happy new year to you all..
They had 4 bad games on offense and at least one on defense (Buffalo) and so are not quite ready to be a superbowl team yet.
But they're getting there.
I think people were over the top about Goff because they make him solely responsible for what is a collaborative set of issues on offense. Last 2 games, for example, the opposing DLs attacked the Rams OL and threw it out of sync a bit. Simple things elude McVay sometimes like the fact that all they had to do to beat Miami was keep running. I think Goff's mistakes in his bad games stood out to people, but disproportionately and in ways that often sounded (to me) more like personal venting than steady analysis about the whole unit.
There's a lot to fix on the offense but then that can happen--an offense in transition just isn't there yet. That personally doesn't make me angry, it makes me interested in how they are going to progress.
My BIGGEST concern this year were the games where they did not enter the game energized and ready to play against an energized opponent. That bothers me. I think everything else is fixable. I hope that is too.
