No, regarding yesterday and the Jets game I understand that. There are OL issues popping up, and I wonder if it is that either they are wearing down to some extent or the predictability/limits of the offense are allowing defenses to be more aggressive. Just saying in general I don't want to see Goff trend the same way Everett did from 1990-93 when things finally ended and he had to go to New Orleans (where he actually played pretty well for a while). I know what you mean about Bulger but that was more a cupboard became bare situation that I don't expect will happen here.
Yeah, I'd say that situation was different. I mean, Georgia was literally gutting the team so they could move to St. Louis. Goff still has plenty of weapons. Goff seems to be the problem. Since that '18 KC game, he has not been the same. Maybe the Rams weren't providing him with elite support but he has not been a particularly good QB for quite some time. At some point, when you have to blame everything and the kitchen sink for his problems, you have to consider that he is the constant and he might be the problem.
In today's NFL, dropback passers are not really the best suited for success. Not to say that it's impossible but having a strong arm just isn't enough. Goff is not seeing things clearly or quickly enough and he just can't run. I think our offense really needs those things.
In Everett's case, he lost that locker room. I don't know if it was the phantom sack or a variety of things but those Rams quit on Jimmy, no doubt in my mind. In that way, I think Goff is potentially similar. Boneheaded mistakes that are costing games and sliding instead of going for a first down will lose your teammates. Goff needs some time off IMO.
