and when the Rams can do that, I'm sure they will. My point however is that when teams successfully stop our running game, I'm skeptical that Goff will be able to step up and deliver. The Rams were blowing open holes last night from the first run of the game. You would have to be crazy to not do that for as long as possible. NE simply did not have the talent to stop our run. That will not always be the case. Thankfully McVay did not get cute and start unnecessarily throwing the ball which he has done in the past. I think he is finally evolving and recognizing Goff's limitations.
Well, even good run D teams would have to sell out to stop a Ram running game out of 12 personnel when WR’s are also heavily involved and with a young and healthy Akers afoot.
And if they pick that poison, they leave themselves vulnerable to a surprise pass to a WR that does a brush block then takes off.
Opposing D’s could be facing nightmare choices.
Balance. Flexibility.
And here are the games the Rams won this year when they could not run effectively but passed 30 or more times: Giants, Seattle, Tampa, Arizona.
Oh and 3 of those defenses (all but Seattle) are top 10 in pressure percentage.
