Where is the Micah Kiser appreciation thread? He's doing ok, probably in the 20th range when it comes to MLBs but the defense is doing great with him.
Would anyone have a problem if we were dwelling on his flaws all the time?
Or is this one of those situations that we need to give an ok/average player favorable treatment because they happen to be the QB?
Why don't you start a "Micah Kiser appreciation thread" if it'll make you feel better?
You know as well as we all do that a QB is the "face" of the franchise and will take the heat when losing and get the credit when winning. LB's don't get that kind of attention. Never have...never will.
I'm gonna pass on the "Micah Kiser appreciation thread." Lol...
Yes, I understand that QBs are the face of the franchise but I still don't understand the sentiment that just because they're the face we should be appreciative of them if they're average.
Generally speaking, I'm appreciative of good, great, and elite players no matter the position. Same with coaches. I can't drum up much appreciation for averageness.
Fortunately, I see Goff somewhere between average to good so I have some appreciation. But if one feels he is really purely average, criticize away. We shouldn't go easy on an average player just because they're the face. Instead, maybe get a new face.
And I don't for one minute buy into the 'it's so hard to find a good QB' argument. Look around the league, there may never have been a time where it's easier to find a good QB.
