Way too much overreaction today. I prefer ramsdude’s take. It’s a very calm and reasoned assessment.

IOW, I give equal part blame to McVay and Goff and there were also plenty of plays left on the field while blocking, catching, running, and ST.

I am not a Goff apologist! Like 43, Goff had a miserable game, but we have also at times seen him have great games. He is what he is ( not consistently good especially under pressure). It was obvious from the beginning that he was off and 0 cover was eating him alive. The run game was working well. McVay has said we were going to be a run first team, yet, with a qb obviously struggling, he went away from it time and time again while the game was close. Our D has been great in the second half all year. We need to keep games close when Goff is off and rely on our D and run game until he can find a rhythm. After the second turn over and giving up the lead, we should have pounded at them until they had to adjust. If McVay would have taken control with a slow drive and kept it close, the second half could have turned out much differently.
