To be fair, though, Speed, you have to admit that people are always changing the bar with JG. They always come around to point out every misstep, every overthrow or incompletion. All we heard for the last week was a bunch of mumbo jumbo about microscopes, and how good the Bears defense was. So now that JG has beaten them, those people want to change the bar. It's like beating the Bears isn't enough. Maybe they want style points? Like some of Russell Wilson's moon bombs that he threw up to Tyler Lockett Sunday Night? But we don't hear one peep about how poorly Wilson managed that game. He threw three abysmal interceptions, I mean dreadful. DeShaun Watson always plays bad against good defenses; then he pads his stats after the Texans are behind 24-7 or something like that. I mean he does it all the time and no one ever wants to talk about it.
No quarterback is unstoppable. Patrick Mahomes was terrible in the Super Bowl for 3.5 quarters, but everyone only remembers the late touchdowns because it confirms the narrative that they have about him.
For the record, I don't think Goff played poorly yesterday at all.
