If there is anything approaching a choreographed ballet on a football field, it is an oline.
They MUST be in sync. And, in general, it takes time for a college player to become a serviceable Olineman, and for an Oline to work together as unit long enough to be good.
There's few Oline guys on a football roster who aren't big enough and strong enough to play. They have, in general, the physical traits needed. It's the mental aspect and the synchronization of movements, along with nuanced technique, that takes time. Sure, there's some guys that for some reason just seem to have "it" and come right in a do a great job. But not all that often.
In 2018 the Rams started the same 5 all year long; and it's not like taken individually they were elite. But, because they worked together all year long, they got in sync with one another and it worked very well. 2019 was the opposite.
If the Rams can avoid the number of oline injuries they had last year, they are likely to operate better as a unit.... even if individually none of them are of the highest caliber......but all will be good enough.
